Apple receives patent for a touchscreen 'multipoint'

jeudi 18 février 2010

Apple has received patent number 7,663,607, entitled "Multipoint Touchscreen," which covers a large touch screen that can be manipulated with both hands. In the patent mentions a tablet PC. The new patent describes a capacitive touch-sensitive surface that is able to "feel" multiple, simultaneous touches in different locations on the screen.

According to some people who have knowledge of such technologies would be something similar to what could be presented in the iPad. This technology would allow the computer to respond to multiple touches on the screen simultaneously, allowing for more advanced interaction. However, as we discussed when we talk about Apple's patent, it does not want to say that such technologies will be used in the short run, even unlikely to be incorporated in the iPad.
