samedi 22 mai 2010

If anyone could make a web store applications in conditions, that is Google and we were not disappointed. At the Google I / O that takes place during these two days, we introduced the Chrome Web Store, an application store, destined to be one of the most important features when it appears on the scene Chrome OS operating system.

And is that the user from their browser will have all sorts of web-based applications simply getting from the Chrome Web Store both free programs and after logearnos payment to our account in any modern browser that uses modern technology, not only Chrome all versions, we get a pesteña the same which gives you all the apps downloaded as you can see in the picture accompanying this post.

The Chrome Web Store will be available to users and to developers before the end of the year, taking the last access before the general public and there will be hanging up their own applications.

Very interesting movement on the part of California, where not only will win more converts to Chrome, but Chrome OS is gradually taking shape and as we have said, is a fundamental part of its dedicated operating system in the cloud.

Gmail allows you to insert images in the body of the message

vendredi 14 mai 2010

Apparently, from now and only if you use Google Chrome as a browser, you can create a more colorful emails than usual. Why am I saying this? Indeed just because you can attach images directly in the text box courier service.

A few weeks ago, the
Gmail guys had already implemented the ability to add attachments without having to open the selection box and having to find, but it was just to add drag, saving us a little time when make e-mails.

With the new functionality, it may be much better when writing an email in which we can give it more body and inserting images directly is much more "beautiful" (yes we are going to do, he has left the vein corny). As we have said, but since Google Chrome is functional, but are already working on their compatibility is universal.

Layar Launches Its Augmented Reality Content Marketplace

samedi 8 mai 2010

Layar is an augmented reality application for iPhone and Android, they can view information at different sites with just pointing the camera of the mobile device. Thanks to applications like this, the development of augmented reality programs gained more attention and now we see more and more similar options that make extensive use of the benefits of certain mobile equipment (eg GPS, Internet access and camera.) Now it's time to take a new step for Layar, a startup based in Germany. It has long been able to access the Reality Browser where you could see different layers or layers of information, however this has become a mini market where you can buy supplements in the range of $ 1 to $ 4, although some allowances are maintained free.

Layar The policy states that for every sale developers will retain 60%, which leaves Layar with a good profit on each transaction. Other companies like Apple are left with only 30% of sales in the App Store so you have to see how well received this policy is for developers.

The method of payment is PayPal and now this market layer is only available in the U.S., UK, Canada and Australia.

Facebook Launches 'credits' virtual money to buy social network

vendredi 7 mai 2010

During the f8 conference held in San Francisco, Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook's CEO, explained the intention of the social network to impose a virtual currency across the network, as payment for all services of the largest social network in the world . His name is Facebook Credits.

This virtual currency, which is still in beta, would have its own exchange rate and would swing real against other currencies. Thus, Facebook wants the user does not have to enter your card details each time you make a payment.

Facebook has 400 million users and over 500,000 applications, some pay, on which stand virtual games, which generated $ 500 million, the second largest trader of
Paypal, Ebay behind, of course.

According to Zuckerberg, took longer to make efficient service and have invested heavily in the project, but certainly with 400 million potential users, many more companies joined the bandwagon of trade by Facebook. Furthermore I wonder what it would be strange to buy a movie ticket or a play, using the motto "official" network?

Adobe Flash Player 10.1 and Air 2.0 for Android nearing public beta

lundi 26 avril 2010

Adobe is participating very actively in the development of plugins for their platforms on mobile devices, and Android are a good opportunity, after Apple to let them out of the game with the restrictions on the iPhone / IPAD. That's why developing for Android is something that is being taken seriously, including many testers.

For now know there is a beta version of Flash Player 10.1 and Adobe AIR 2.0, both for operating system hosted by Google, however, the builds of these betas are closed and only a few developers can access for now. However, it is expected to soon be available on a public beta, although there is no estimated date for this to happen.

While it is possible suscribise to a list to receive information about the launch of these products in Android.

It is curious that now Adobe is worried about the optimization of Web content on mobile phones, because after the criticism of Apple on the performance of Flash, it seems that they are finally ready to improve on that. And what is needed, for even in desktop computers sometimes Flash requires too many resources.

The truth is that this new functionality is going to thank more than one of us and every time you send an attachment from Gmail, pull, first you give the button to search, then search the folder where and returns to find the file that you inetresa, before giving "add".

So comfortable that that was already finished and simply need to drag and drop over the area is highlighted in green when they appear in the file. Once you let go, start loading the file.

Currently only works if you're working under Mozilla Firefox 3.6 or Google Chrome. I in my case, I've tested in Safari, and the new functionality does not work.

Google Chrome integrating the internal Flash plugin

At least the versions of Chromium Builds Nighty have already begun to incorporate internal Flash plugin that comes integrated with Google's browser, that is to improve the user experience and make life easier for all costs, thus there will be no to install additional components from the Adobe website to view Flash content. This plugin empaquetación is especially useful for users who are not experts in customizing the browser, as it saves the hassle of installing components that rarely understand what they are. On the other hand, will also be beneficial especially for Linux users, who seem to be forgotten by Adobe as the support for that platform is weak.

One advantage over the standard plugin is performance, because we know that Flash is a voracious consumer of resources integrated with this version of the plugin, resource consumption will be lower but you have to wait to try a version of Chrome with this feature to confirm he said.

The download file has an approximate size of 14 MB (Windows version), which corresponds to the installer, the interesting thing is that it keeps the file size of 14 MB still with integrated Flash plugin, so you can see that have worked to keep everything as compact as possible.

Chromium browser run on the Nokia N900

Some enthusiasts have managed to carry a version of Chromium 32-bits made for Debian, the project behind Google's browser. Unlike other projects where only part of the project portal, this is the full version of the browser, as it is available for computers, thus all the advantages that desktop users, owners also have a Nokia N900. The process to install the browser on the phone has been published, and impressively is not very difficult since it only requires a few commands executed from a terminal. These are the steps required:

• Download the needed packages and put them in the root of the N900.
• In the console, type root and press enter.
• Type cd / home / user / MyDocs / dpkg-i file-name-descargado.deb
• Run dpkg-i file-name-descargado.deb
With that technically it is sufficient to have a full version of Chromium on the N900, with support for various plugins (Flash course included). I wish there were benchmarks (performance tests) to see if it is usable or is it just to have it as an experiment.

Yahoo Mail Gets Unrestricted API Access with OAuth

jeudi 15 avril 2010

Yahoo does not want to stay behind other companies (like Google), and which is also catching up on technical issues and improvements to the user experience, this time it is reported that OAuth access through the API, has been released, but its use is also available without restriction, regardless if the account is free or premium. OAuth has become an ideal for developers because it is a useful resource, for example, can grant permission to third party applications with a single click. The advantages are many but to name one could access the entire contents of your account (email, calendar, notes, etc..) From another application, such as Facebook.

The message was given through the group of Yahoo Mail Developer Community, where he announced that the API is kinder now that you can use 100% even with the free accounts. This is good for the user base of Yahoo Mail, who could see new additions and / or applications compatible with Yahoo Mail accounts.

Internet Explorer 9 could have a minimalist interface

mardi 6 avril 2010

Despite being the most hated browser, Internet Explorer continues to evolve, and this time is for good. After last month launched an alpha version of this product (to show it to developers), it appears that the browser development team is still very active, and this time the most radical changes have been made in the GUI / interface (UI). Through a Chinese forum, these images were obtained of the possible interface of Internet Explorer 9. While not from a 100% reliable source (you have to doubt the veracity of these images), the truth is that it is a good concept to be taken into account, as it would be taking a big step for what as minimalist and usable, which benefits us.

Although this model lacks the distinctive features of Windows (such as the Aero interface), the design is not so far from reality as it follows more or less along the lines of Windows Phone 7, one of the products that Microsoft have priority . Images are real or not, we face the possibility of finding an Internet Explorer battle they can get the market to favorites (Firefox, Chrome), not only in appearance but also in
performance.

Remember that it is too premature IE9 current version, so all the features and changes we see may not be part of the final product, but as a concept illustration, I consider a good start.

Facebook will open its information flow

jeudi 25 mars 2010

Surely you're fearing for your information and pictures on Facebook just read the statement if you have a profile, and maybe you'll have every reason to fear for your privacy, but not for the reason that Facebook will open its information flow, by this tranquil estate.

As Facebook announced they intend to give access to their information flow of public users, ie if you have privacy settings well done, in principle, you need not fear for your data.

Facebook's intention is none other than to offer this information to developers in the next F8 conference in April to invite them to write applications and connections to your network, using this data and offer them to users.

The very openness of information flow, Twitter made a while back with the data of its users and because she got some of their most important partners and, on the other hand, developers, books, programs of hundreds of applications that are available in the network to access Twitter today (and continuing to develop and publish from time to time).

For me personally, every time they speak of "distributed" user information privacy worries me most in my network, but Facebook has already promised a thousand times, actively and passively, never do anything that could harm the privacy of its users ... yet you trust the security of Facebook?.

Microsoft enters the world of microblogging

lundi 22 mars 2010

Here in onlinetechnical we have mentioned several tools developed in the concept of microblogging. Since the birth of Twitter (when it was then considered a service microblogs) to Yammer, a Twitter-like tool, only at corporate level and certain collaboration features. Microsoft is about to enter this field with a new product, which is now at an early stage. OfficeTalk is the name of the product that the Redmond company is developing. In short it is a platform based on micrblogging benefits for employees of an organization can speak freely. Thoughts, ideas, suggestions, notes, etc.. All that content can be published in OfficeTalk.

By bringing the Office into the name brand, are likely to see implementations of the suite of Microsoft. Perhaps the integration is with the web version, which would be great because no matter the operating system users. Being able to share documents easily would be a very useful feature that would add great value to the experience of employees.

For now the applications are very limited OfficeTalk. Need to enter a questionnaire, and based on the responses the staff of Microsoft decides whether to accept the request.

Apple releases iPhone SDK 3.2 Beta 5 for the iPad

mercredi 17 mars 2010

A few minutes and merely 8 days have released the iPhone SDK 3.2 Beta 4 for the iPad, Apple has released the next version of the SDK specifically for the iPad. The speed with which Apple has been releasing different versions of the SDK, denote the imminent appearance of the product on the market.

As you can imagine, yet no information on the new features this new version, but probably within the next few hours will be enough information. The question would be Is there a new version of the iPhone software for existing terminals or we have to wait until Apple releases the iPhone software version 4?

To me, that the current owners of an iPhone, we have to wait to present a new generation Apple iPhone with iPhone Software 4. Apparently the many fixes that need the iPhone's operating system along with new features, will have to wait several more months.

If you are an application developer for the iPad, you probably already know that you can download from the
Apple iPhone Dev Center.

Google Is Working On Letting Users Link Their Gmail And Google Apps Accounts

lundi 15 mars 2010

Google does not waste time and not resting on its laurels. Not enough to be a leader in the Internet world, we must continue to improve. And that's precisely what is wanted now, specifically the Google mail service, GMail, which is used heavily throughout the world. For me it is the best provider of mail and leaves much to its jurisdiction.

During a panel at SXSW (which takes place in Austin, Texas) a team of experts said several points about GMail. One of the main concerns is the capability to link two accounts: a traditional account of GMail and Google Apps, since after all, both share the same heart so no surprise. What are the advantages? Well, the moment I homogenization occurs in terms of email addresses. The possibility of using a single e-mail but internally, being able to handle multiple inboxes, and that really would be great. It would be particularly useful in organizations and workplaces.

For example, you could use an account (alan@dominio.com) for personal matters, but both use the same address for labor matters. It is more practical to have all information under the same account, provided this is properly organized. This is not a new concept, as indeed happens in Google as well, many engineers are using cuenta@google.com for personal and work related things.

Currently we can
handle multiple GMail inboxes (activating the Gmail Labs option previously) with which you can see the potential of what GMail can do for us. I hope that this becomes reality in the near future, because it would be an enormous achievement.

Firefox JavaScript engine is derived from the Webkit

samedi 13 mars 2010

Nobody will seem strange to read that sometimes Firefox is slower than other browsers (compared for example with Google Chrome). The slowness of Firefox can be seen in several parameters, one of them is for example the JavaScript engine, which is responsible for recognizing and interpreting the JS code is in web pages.

This is a very important part of the browser, and is used as parameter when doing benchmarks (performance tests).
Today Firefox is behind Chrome, Opera and Safari in performance when doing basic tasks with JavaScript code.

The Mozilla browser has nanojit as motor (in fact this project was developed by Adobe to interpret ActionScript in Flash. It is also open source since 2006), which has a regular performance.

The new engine called JägerMonkey, will nanojit parts, however their main base and more solid will be formed with pieces of code from Apple Webkit project in an attempt to make Firefox more about their competitors, especially when running JavaScript code.

This new heart for Firefox is at a very early stage of development and still not be distributed widely. For developers, there is a place where you can download the source code and also check the status of the project.

Google Launches Google Apps Marketplace

mercredi 10 mars 2010

Nice way to make software development companies can offer their products in the cloud and the backing after the platform that are more than 25 million potential users.

This is how the Google Apps Marketplace, an online store and cloud services that integrate seamlessly with Google Apps and they simply have to select the field you want, accept the seller's features and start using.

All applications will be segmented into categories so that end users have it much easier when doing a search.

Komento In yesterday's presentation on March 9, Google already had 50 partner companies, but knowing the number of potential customers after the platform, that number will grow quite quickly.

Also, if you're a developer, you can download the API and develop your own applications to sell or let them free. This will entail a single payment of about $ 100 and profits of 20% of sales.

Let's say in a nutshell, this is a store of applications that can be found in many mobile platforms and even the Apple AppStore, but focused on the business user, which has everything in the cloud.
